Professor Oliver Williamson wins the 2009 Nobel Prize in Economics.
Hundreds of Haas School faculty, staff, and students toasted Professor Oliver Williamson today after he was named a winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. Williamson, the Edgar F. Kaiser Professor Emeritus of Business, Economics and Law at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and a professor of economics in the College of Letters and Science, shares the 2009 prize with Elinor Ostrom, a professor of political science and of public and environmental affairs at Indiana University in Bloomington.
